Glossary term

Active Player

A player meeting the activity definition in force — the denominator every rate metric silently depends on.

“Active” requires definition: wagered in period? deposited? logged in? Thresholds (any activity vs meaningful activity) and windows (daily/weekly/monthly) change every downstream number.

The definitional audit

Cross-team metric fights are usually denominator fights — CRM’s actives (contactable) versus product’s (engaged) versus finance’s (revenue-bearing). Platform reporting should expose the definition beside the number. Regulatory reporting adds its own definitions per market. The glossary entry exists because “we have 100k actives” is a sentence that means nothing until someone asks the follow-up — and the follow-up is this entry.
