Glossary term

GAMSTOP

Great Britain's national online self-exclusion register — one registration blocks the player at every licensed British operator.

GAMSTOP centralizes self-exclusion: players register once, choose six months to five years, and all UKGC-licensed online operators must check and enforce the block at registration and login.

Ecosystem effects

Integration is mandatory for British licensees, so “casinos not on GAMSTOP” became the search phrase of the unlicensed market targeting excluded players — content that regulators, payment providers and (post-2023 policy updates) Google actively pursue. Affiliates touching that vertical are marketing to self-identified vulnerable users against regulator intent; programs worth partnering with prohibit it outright in their terms.
