Traffic Cap

A limit on payable volume from an affiliate — maximum FTDs or spend per day/month — protecting budgets and containing fraud blast radius.

Caps bound exposure: “first 100 FTDs/month at $400 CPA, overflow at revshare” or hard daily limits during quality probation.

The two jobs caps do

Budget control on CPA deals (finance sleeps better with a known worst case) and fraud containment (a compromised or malicious account can only burn its cap, not the quarter’s budget). Handle overflow gracefully — auto-shifting to revshare beats rejecting conversions, which teaches affiliates to route their best traffic elsewhere. Publish cap status in the portal; surprise-capped affiliates churn loudly.
