Rev Adjustment

A manual correction applied to an affiliate's revenue or commission figures — for mispriced deals, tracking errors, fraud removals or goodwill.

Rev adjustments are the manual override lane of commission accounting: a credit for conversions lost to a tracking outage, a deduction removing a fraud ring’s FTDs, a goodwill bump during a dispute.

Governance is the whole game

Every adjustment needs an author, a reason code, an affected period and a paper trail — they’re where both fat-finger errors and internal fraud hide. Platforms should require reason codes and expose adjustments as line items in affiliate statements rather than silently morphing last month’s numbers; retroactively changing published statements without labeled adjustments is how programs end up on affiliate-forum blacklists.
